ARTEAGA, Mario R., Of Kalamazoo. Mario passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born, December 6, 1973 in Harlingen, Texas, the son of Mario and Herlinda Vega Arteaga.
On February 9, 1990, Mario was united in marriage to Sulema Gonzalez. He was employed by Kalamazoo Steel Processing and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sulema Arteaga; his five children, Mario Arteaga of Texas, Yvette Arteaga, Sulema Arteaga, Rosemary Arteaga, Mario Arteaga Jr., and Cruz Arteaga all of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren, Emily Montoya and Rea Arteaga; his father, Mario Arteaga of Texas; three sisters, Rosalinda Arteaga, Rosalicia Arteaga, and Anita Arteaga all of Texas; one brother, Armando Arteaga of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his mother, Herlinda Arteaga.
