Mario James Urso, 64, of New Buffalo, Michigan, died Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2007, at his home.Jim was born December 15, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Anne (Parker) Urso. He grew up on Taylor Street in the city’s Little Italy neighborhood. On December 7, 1963, he married Barbara Kucharski in Chicago. Jim was a car enthusiast who owned and operated Performance Auto Parts Store and enjoyed drag racing.
He was an avid boater and wrote a weekly news column for the Pastrick Marina in Chicago. He loved to travel in his motor home, talk on his CB radio, and enjoyed a good cigar. Jim held on to high ideals and was a very generous man.Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Mark (Colleen) Urso of Chicago and Jim (Sherri) Urso of Plainfield, Illinois; brother, Robert (Pat) Urso of Elmhurst, Illinois and sisters, Mary Ann (Rodney) Riley of Chicago; Ellen Manual of Orland Park, Illinois and DeeDee Harmon of Orland Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Tom Urso.
