Marilyn Mae Palmer passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020. She was born in Carroll, Iowa, on Thursday, May 11, 1933, the daughter of the late Vincent Seuntjens and Clara (Wolterman) Seuntjens. Marilyn graduated in 1951 from Highland High School. She met her future husband, Billie (Bill) Lee Palmer at a USO dance. They were married on November 13, 1954. Marilyn was a housewife and a stay at home mom for numerous years. Later on she decided to take a seasonal and part-time job at Buffett’s Candies. Marilyn was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She would do anything for her family and loved them dearly. Marilyn also loved to babysit her grandsons, Justin and Aaron, and watched them grow up to be great young men. She would attend their baseball games and cheer them on. Marilyn enjoyed being on a bowling league, making ceramics, playing cards with family and friends, as well as being a spectator at car races where she cheered on her husband in her early years and her son, Dean Palmer, that raced also.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Billie (Bill) Palmer; and her son, Raymond “Punky” Palmer. Marilyn is survived by her sons, Dean and Tim Palmer; daughters, Kathy Byers and Linda White (Carl White); grandsons, Justin and Aaron Means; siblings, Donald and Gerald (Jerry) Seuntjens; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of you for your support and continued prayers. A huge thank you also goes out to Princeton Place who took care of Marilyn for the last 15 years as well as Heritage Hospice for their gracious help with Marilyn during her last days. Marilyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
