Mrs. Gerard passed away peacefully with her family at her side late Saturday evening, June 26, 2010 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 82 years. The daughter of the late George and Eva (Ligney) McPhee was born April 20, 1928 in Bay City. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Mrs. Gerard retired from Bay Medical Care Facility. She was a full time mother who enjoyed being with her family.
Marilyn is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law; Timothy Gerard, Rodney and Alice Gerard, Tyler and Pamela Gerard all of Bay City, Patrick Gerard of Torch Lake and Connie Gerard of Bay City, her grandchildren; Robert Atha, Brian Atha, Benjamin (Amy) Gerard, Lorien Gerard, Tobias (Kristen) Gerard, Zachary Gerard, Tosha Cole, Calvin Gerard, and Kerry Gerard, her great grandchildren; Grant Gerard, Myles Gerard, Gavin Gerard and Dylan Gerard, one brother and sister-in-law; Charles and Joann McPhee, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by: two sons; Melvin J. Gerard, Jr. on June 5, 2010 and Randall Gerard, one grandson; Jeremiah T. Gerard, her brothers and sisters; Wendell McPhee, LeRoy McPhee, Joyce Anderson, Gloria Holden, and Dick McPhee, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
