Marilyn Jo Schultz, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Marilyn was born and raised in Clarion, IA, to Edward and Della (Bayliss) Rayl. She graduated from, Clarion High School. Right out of high school she landed a job working for “Look Magazine,” in Des Moines.
Marilyn was a proud mother of two Sons, Curt and Kevin. During their childhood, she was a homemaker, and a very good one! She made the best chili in town; it was her home-grown tomatoes that added a special touch. Every year the family went on a summer vacation. They eventually traveled through most states east of the Mississippi. After having children of her own, Marilyn worked as a Child Care Provider for 20 years, retiring in 2005.
Marilyn loved many things, two of her favorites were her garden; she could never have enough vegetables and flowers, and her grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her Sons, Curt (Cindy) Schultz of Ankeny, IA, Kevin (Bonnie) Schultz of Minnetonka, MN; Six grandchildren, Courtney (Mark) Hessel of Ankeny, IA, Chad Schultz of Glenwood Springs, CO, Sierra Schultz of Minneapolis, MN, Adrian Schultz, Kayla Schultz of Hopkins, MN, Connor Schultz of Minnetonka, MN; She was preceded in death by her Sisters, Frances and Betty, Brother, Jimmy Rayl, and her parents.
