Marilyn Elizabeth (Rubel) Carroll, 76, of Framingham, MA, passed away following a brief illness on November 10th, 2013, one day shy of her 56th wedding anniversary. She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Carroll.

Born in Detroit, MI, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Wojciechowski) Rubel. Marilyn spent a number of years raising her young family in various “ports of call” including Plattsburgh, NY; Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, Canada; and Springfield, VA. She was an avid crossword puzzle fan who simply couldn’t leave a word blank. She enjoyed travelling to warm climates, including quite a few trips to Florida, St. Maarten, Aruba, Barbados, Mexico, and Las Vegas. She had a fun and easy way about her, loved storytelling, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed preparing many traditional Polish dishes for her family. Incredibly generous and always kind, she guided her children through the years with her own special wisdom and loving patience, putting her family before everything else.

She was the cherished mother to her son, Robert of Brandon, FL, and three daughters, Rebecca of Framingham, Kelly of Hopkinton, and Shannon (Carroll) Schimp and her husband Christopher of Upton. She also leaves three treasured grandchildren who were her great pride and joy, Danielle of Brighton, and Julianne and Kaitlyn of Upton. Also left behind are many family members in Michigan, including her loving sister-in-law, Kathy Burbeula. She was pre-deceased by her sister Patricia (Rubel) Glidden. She was an animal lover to the core and had a special affection for Gus, ‘Nilla, and the latest family addition, baby Chalupa.
