After a protracted battle with cancer, Marilyn A Henry died on October 28th, 2015 in Gainesville, Virginia at the age of 73. She leaves behind her husband, Jake Henry; her daughters, Cheryl Gossman (Bill) and Denise Morrisey (Patrick); and her sons, Lawrence (Madhu) and Kevin Henry (Ethel) and her 10 grandchildren: Rachel, Mariah, Rebecca, Connor, Julia, Lawrence, Hunter, Elizabeth, Tejas and Dhylan. Marilyn was born on March 22, 1942 in Altoona, PA, to Oscar and Helen Montgomery and grew up in a loving family with two sisters and one brother.Marilyn graduated from Altoona Catholic High School and married her high school sweet heart and the love of her life Jake Henry on Oct 22, 1960. Shortly after graduation, Jake joined the Air Force and Marilyn joined him on his many assignments across the United States and Puerto Rico. Marilyn was a dedicated supporter of her family both as homemaker, military spouse, deaconate wife and executive assistant at the GWU School of Engineering. Marilyn had a passion for the activities of her grandchildren, people and musicals. When diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2014, she remained dedicated to her family and her role as primary care giver for her husband. Her will to fight her illness was resolute. She remained a brave, iron-willed lady, even throughout her final months. Marilyn is survived by her husband and children, as well as her sisters, Jean Wirfel and Lois Bearer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph Montgomery.
