Marietta Davis, 93, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 24th in Troy Idaho.
Born March 26th 1921 in Waterloo Alabama to Etta Chandler & Newt Blackshire, Marietta moved to Clifton Tennessee at a young age and attended Pearl high in Nashville Tennessee. Marietta married William Henry Davis in 1939, and the two of them saw much of the United States together during William’s Naval career, settling in San Diego in 1955. After William’s death in 2005, she relocated to Troy Idaho to be with her daughter Bridgette.
Marietta and William were the proud parents of 6 children.
She was preceded in death by her husband William and her sons Phillip Michael and William Decasca. She was also the last surviving sibling of brothers Alfred and Albert Chandler, Edward Lee, Jesse, and Lesie Witherspoon, and sisters Mabel Witherspoon-Green, Geneva Chandler, and Edith Witherspoon,
Marietta was a successful entrepreneur who loved fishing and treasure hunting.
Marietta leaves behind her sons Chris (Trina), and Cedric (Pam); daughters Henrietta, and Bridgette (Jerry) Becker, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren to cherish her memory.
