Marie W. Gillis, 95, died Friday, October 30, 2015, at Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS..M…M.. Born in Lafayette County, MS to the late Joseph L. and Lillie Wood, Mrs. Gillis was a retired deputy tax collector for the City of Oxford. She was a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church for over 60 years and involved in many civic organizations. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Hamilton and her husband, Jim of Taylor, MS; her son, Don Gillis and his wife, Donna of Oxford, MS; a sister, Faye Fudge of Oxford, MS; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren..
