Marie T. Kopkowski, 86, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at Hamilton Communities, in New Carlisle, Indiana. She was born on December 23, 1918, in Benning Pennsylvania to John and Mary (Zaremka) Jendrasek and resided in Indiana since 1942. After moving to this area from Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Kopkowski owned and operated Maries Apparel in downtown New Carlisle for several years.
On July 17, 1937, as Marie T. Jendrasek, she married Edward Kopkowski who preceded her in death on December 13, 1986. She is survived by a daughter, Pat Geitz of LaPorte, Indiana; two sons, Richard (Jennie Sue) Kopkowski of New Carlisle, Indiana, William K. (Carolyn) Kopkowski of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Jarecki of Evergreen Park, Illinois. Mrs. Kopkowski was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a son, Donald Kopkowski, a grandson, John William Kopkowski, and by four brothers.
Mrs. Kopkowski was a member of St. John Kanty Catholic Church, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. She also helped form the New Carlisle Business Association.
