Marie C. Parsen, 99, resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, at The Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque, a nursing home on 5900 Forest Hills Dr. NE, where she had lived and been cared for excellently.

She was born in Cleveland, NM on November 18, 1917 to Fulgencio and Elvira Chacon. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Parsen; and by eight siblings, Gilbert, Fidela, Claudio, Eugenio, Aurora, Delfina, Nestor, and Jose; and by her beloved daughter, Frances Cecilia Vigil.

Marie is survived by her sister, Martha Trambley; a daughter, Lucy Vigil; four grandchildren, Edwin J. Buck, Denise Roland (Brett) Scott, Hammon Buck, and Ronnie Maestas; and two great-grandchildren, Emily Roland and Aaron Roland. She is also survived by many living nieces and nephews.

Marie was an elementary school teacher in the districts of Mora, Grants, and Albuquerque. In her retirement she did volunteer work at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Parish in Albuquerque as a Sunday school teacher, lector, and translator. She was active in the charismatic movement within the Catholic Church for many years.

A Rosary will be recited on Monday, January 23, 2017, 6:00 p.m.
