A native of Winterhaven, FL, before moving from Florida to New Orleans with her family, Marie was employed until her retirement at the Wembley Tie Company. She loved colors, especially the color blue. Marie loved many little dogs over her lifetime. Marie was a kind and gracious lady to all she met, and possessed greater inner strength. She was a loving, kind, gracious, and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Helton Odom and Ruby Lois Childress Odom; her husband, Wayne M. Smith; her sister and brother, Lillian F. Dupre and Roland to cherish her memory are her sons, Ronald (Jeanne) Smith, Michael (Kathryn) Smith, and Steven Smith; 7 grandchildren, Lance Smith, Sandee Odom, Pam Wheat, Melissa Huy, Stacey (Tracy) Hufford, Patrick (Betsy) Smith, and Holly Delaune; 2 step grandchildren, Nathan and Adam Smith; 16 great grandchildren; her brother, Raymond Odom; and numerous nieces and family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care given to Miss Marie by the entire staff of Bedford Care Center of Picayune.
