Marie Malige Hild, 93, died October 13, 2016. She was the daughter of Daisy Platt Malige and Marcel E. Malige, born in Nantes, France, October 27, 1922 and raised abroad as her father worked in the U.S.
Marie worked in the family office of Hild Real Estate in Philadelphia for decades in addition to being a caring mother of four children. She was a gracious, beautiful, loving person. Despite enduring the deaths of three of her children (Douglas, 9 years old, Barbara, 38 years old, and Charles Anthony, 60 years old), she found life a gift to be cherished and very much worth living.
She was an inspiration in how she coped with clinical depression and was able to live a life full of love and generosity to so many. She read widely and voraciously, and she volunteered at Ten Thousand Villages in Pennsylvania as well as the Windham High School Library.
Her family moved her to Connecticut in 2000 where she resided happily for 16 years, including two years at the Card Home, and almost three years at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Her surviving family includes daughter, Ann Kouatly, son-in-law Youssef Kouatly, three grandsons: Omar Kouatly married to Suzanne Mackas Kouatly, Rick Kouatly married to Kimberly Beaulieu Kouatly, and Gregory Carroll married to Colleen Sakl Carroll, 9 great grandchildren: Seth, Marco, Leo, Tyler, Bruno, Kailee, Hugo, Connor, and Jane.
