Marie Elicia Azor was born on May 4th, 1920, to Genecia Juste-Azor and Calix Juste of Grand’Anse, Jeremie in Haiti. Elicia was the youngest of 4. Her mom passed away when she was 3 months old, being raised by her older sister Falonie Juste. Elicia was sent to boarding school which, later formed her into the independent person that she became. Elicia was a well-known entrepreneur in Haiti, where she was well known for her sewing skills. She was skilled in making anything from dresses to skirts. Around the 1938’s, she married her husband Jean-Baptise Clement Azor (who died in 1999).

Wanouse Pierre Tristan Bernard Azor (died in 2019) and Nouchka Auguste (died in 1996) and 10 great-grandkids: Destiny Auguste, Chrisley Assami Azor, Victoria Azor, Alanna Harriot, Amani Harriot, Issac Senatus, Oliver Pierre, Trevor Azor, Savri Auguste, Suri Auguste, Leo Azor (Family Cat) and Wilga Azor (deceased). Elicia Azor resided in Orange, New Jersey in 1978. Where she was a well-known by everybody in the community. She opened her home in the morning for residents to stop by for coffee and conversation. She was a pillar in the community of Orange. Her favorite TV show to watch was All My Children, One Life to Live, and General Hospital. She never missed an episode. Her favorite character was Maurice Bernard better known as Sonny Corinthos. Nobody was allowed to change the channel from 1-3 pm, as she sits in her favorite chair and her favorite snack coffee and cassava to watch her TV shows. Elicia was a loving and warming mother and grandmother. She enjoyed telling childhood stories of families back home.
