Marie E. Patrick age 81, of DeMotte, Indiana went home to our Lord on December 3, 2011. She was born on May 31, 1930 in Blue Island, IL to Frank and Marie (Behr) Flassig. Marie attended First Lutheran School for eight years and graduated from Blue Island High School.
She was a retired sales clerk after 15 years at L S Ayers & Company in Hobart in their fragrance department. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of DeMotte where she volunteered her time & gifts in many areas of the church. Her flare for creativity was evident as she enjoyed decorating, knitting, oil painting and quilting. She loved to spend time in the outdoors and a good round of golf.
Marie’s words of wisdom and how she lived her life were “Be Kind.” Marie’s first marriage was to Donald E. Buchwalter who died in 1980. On May 9, 1998, she married Jerome Patrick and he passed away in 2001.
Marie is survived by three children; Donald (Marsha) Buchwalter, son, Lake Placid, FL; Leslee (Jim) Paparone, daughter, Mokena, IL; Lauren (Dan) Bilek, daughter, Hebron, IN Sandra Hockenson, daughter-in-law; 4-Grandchildren, Donald E. Buchwalter, III, Shannon (Bob) Pearson, Stefanie (Jim) Stahl, & Rachel Bilek; 2-Great-grandchildren, Abigail Pearson & Jack Donald Stahl and, Millie her beloved Pug.
