Marie D. McSorley, (nee Miller), 89, of Holiday City Berkeley, a section of Berkeley Township died on January 6, 2014 at her home. Marie was born in Long Island, NY; she lived in Elizabeth, Avenel, and Edison, NJ before moving to Holiday City Berkeley 19 years ago. She owned and operated Merri-Mac Sales in Metuchen, NJ for many years.
Marie succeeded in her “Impossible Dream” to build a successful business and many wonderful friendships. In her later years she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother known as “Me Mom.” Her greatest joy was a bountiful trip to Atlantic City.
She is preceded in death by her husband Francis McSorley, and her stepson Brian McSorley. Surviving are her daughters Doris Panella and her dear friend Dan Marra of Hamilton, NJ, and Karen Quaranta and her husband Ray of Jackson, NJ, 3 grandchildren Samantha Houser and her husband Douglas, Jill Quaranta, Ray Quaranta III, and 1 great grandson Declan.
Also surviving are many loving friends, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
