Those left to honor Marie’s memory are her two sons, Robert (Judy) Floss of Baxter; Richard (Beverly Clark) Floss of Baxter; four grandchildren, Craig (Karen) Floss of Clive, Iowa, Mark Floss of Baxter, Heather (Augie) Rethwill of Roseburg, Oregon, and Gretchan (Ivan) Anderholm of Hermiston, Oregon; two step grandchildren, Barry Groos (Marcie Stout) of Ames, Iowa, and Amy Wilder of New York, New York; and her ten great-grandchildren, Brennan, Caleb, Keaton, Jarrett, Tristan, Jordan, Alex, Luke, Madison, and Caitlin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Dora (Markman) Schumann; husband, Eugen Hans Floss in 1989; and sister, Juanita Schumann.
Marie was a graduate of Newton High School in 1932 and a graduate of AIB in 1934.
Marie was a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau, Neighborly Neighbors, Garden Club, and the Jasper County Historical Society.
Marie worked many years as an Election Day Pole Watcher. Marie loved to have her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around.
