Marie A. Nemes, 72, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 1, 2018, surrounded by her loving family while in the care of Holy Family Manor. She was the was wife of Stephen C. “Hector” Nemes for 52 years.

Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Wingert. Marie was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1964. She was a customer service representative for the Firemans Fund for over 19 years. She also worked for Georges IGA.

She was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Marie was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and she also volunteered at Ritter Elementary School in Allentown for many years, where she was affectionately know as “Nana”. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafts, and was a master crocheter. Most of all, the most important thing in her life was her family. Marie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Holy Family Manor for their love and care.

SURVIVORS: In addition to her husband Hector, son Matthew C. Nemes and his wife Marie of Northampton; daughter-in-law Kimberly A. Nemes of Bethlehem; grandchildren Aron, Sydney, and Kaitlyn, who she adored and were the light of her life; brother Val Wingert and his wife Gerry of South Bend, IN; many nieces and nephews. Marie is also survived by her canine companions Duncan and Sammy. She was predeceased by her son Stephen G. Nemes.
