Marie A. (Salz) Miller, 103, of Streator, formerly of Lostant, passed away, Friday, May 29, 2015, at Heritage Healthcare Center in Streator. Marie was born December 25, 1911, in rural Lostant to William and Mary (Puetz) Salz.
She married Wendell E. Miller on June 27, 1936, in Toluca. He passed away on October 20, 1982. She worked as a cook at Lostant Grade School and St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, past president of the Altar and Rosary Society, and member of AARP.
She is survived by her children; Charles Miller of Genoa and Mary Ann Finch of Verona, 5 grandchildren, Danny (Jackie) Miller, Brian (Nicole) Miller, David Miller, Jennifer (Ron) Frye, and Jeff (Jeanette) Finch; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Raymond (Betty) Salz of Streator and a sister Agnes Judd of Lostant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wendell, 4 brothers, Albert, Arnold, Florbert, and William Salz; 5 sisters Alma Roth, Alberta O’Grady, Edna Wolf, Minnie Obermiller, and Anna Mae Flecker; a daughter-in-law Judy Miller and son-in-law James Finch. Pallbearers will be Danny Miller, Brian Miller, David Miller, Jeff Finch, Ron Frye, and Gary Flecker.
