Marie A. Merring, 71, of Madison, Ga., died Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Ga. She was the wife of Alvin B. Merring, Jr. for 26 years. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late John and Lucy (Castiello) Conti. Marie worked for her brother Ed’s business as a typesetter and was also a homemaker. She was a former member of Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church. Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alvin in Georgia; sons Gregg Laub and his wife Carol of Germansville and Joseph Laub and his wife Sara of Melbourne, Fla.; sister Lucy Zorr and her husband Bill of Gaithersburg, Md; brother Ed Conti and his wife Grace of Orefield; grandchildren Anthony, Logan and Jocee. She was predeceased by her daughter Jennifer and brother Jack.
