Marianne Tenney Moody, 85, of Palm Coast, passed from this life on Friday, March 19, 2021, at the Bailey Care Center in St. Augustine following a brief illness. Marianne was a native of Palatka and graduated from Palatka High School in 1954. She had resided in Palm Coast for 21 years moving there from Matanzas where she lived for 5 years. Marianne had worked around 13 years as a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. Her life was centered around worshiping and serving in various capacities at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Federal Point.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) and was involved with the music at the church for over 40 years. Growing flowers were a lifelong joy of hers. Marianne was an excellent cook and enjoyed gathering recipe books. For over 20 years, she made and decorated cakes for all types of occasions and was famous for her 7-layer chocolate cake. A few years back, Marianne had also been a talented artist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Carrie Mae Tenney, a brother, Stanley Earl Tenney, Jr., and a sister, Barbara Guffey.
Marianne is survived by her husband of 66 years, Doyle Moody of Palm Coast, her children, Ben Moody (Melony) of Francis, Gary Moody of Bardin, Anna Marie Wayne of East Palatka, and Keith Moody (Carrie) of Hastings, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
