Maria Schirripa passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 22nd, surrounded by her loving family. Maria was born on July 28th, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 6 she moved to Italy with her family. October 6th, 1946, Maria married her true love, Salvatore. In 1966 Maria and Salvatore returned to America, establishing a home for their six children in South Bend, IN. She will forever be remembered for her love and generosity towards those around her. She was an amazing cook, always spoiling her family, friends and neighbors with her delicious Italian meals. In addition to her love for cooking, Maria had a passion for gardening.
