Maria (Hertlein) (Sterling) Rentel, 91, of Winchester, Medford, and Beverly, MA., died peacefully at Rosewood Nursing Home, West Peabody, MA, on July 1, 2016. Born in Nurnberg, Germany, on October 11, 1924. Middle child and only daughter of the late Georg and Elise Hertlein. Beloved wife of the late Theodore Rentel. Former wife of the late Edward Sterling. She is survived by her daughters, Erika Bianchi, and her husband, Robert, of Middleton, MA, and Karin Chase, and her husband Leonard, of Boca Raton, FL; her grandchildren, Kristine Erwin, of Center Ossippee, NH, Kimberly Guerino, and her husband Eric, of Gilbert, AZ; Kyle Hirst, and his wife, Rayna, of California; Guy Hirst, of Birmingham, England; five greatgrandchildren and four stepdaughters, Joanna Rentel, of Exeter, NH, Theodora Rentel and her husband, Will Brunkhorst, of Hopkinton, NH, Leslie Rentel and her husband, Lawrence Sullivan, of Alton, NH, and Lauren Hirst and her husband, David, of Birmingham, England.
