Mrs. Marguerite McFarley, 85, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully after an extended illness Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at 11:48 a.m. at Elkhart General Hospital. Oct. 20, 1927 – Oct. 3, 2013 She was born Oct. 20, 1927, in Sumiton, Ala., to the late Marvin and Martha (Harris) Miles. She married Jesse McFarley on June 9, 1950, in Sumiton. He passed away in Elkhart in 2003.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Margaret (Ernest) Harris and Sharon Starks, both of Elkhart, and Brenda McFarley of South Bend; sons Fred (Shirley) and Richard (Lisa) McFarley, both of Elkhart; her sister, Frances (Willie) Carter of Elkhart; brothers Benny Miles of Chicago and Bill (Sadie) Miles of Jasper, Ala.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were five brothers and sisters.
