Marguerite L. Manley, 90, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017.  She was born in Mishawaka, IN, to the late William A. and Zella M. (Smith) Connon.  On June 12, 1948, as Marguerite L. Connon, she married C. Ray Manley, who survives.  Also surviving are her children, Robert (Holly) Manley of Fort Collins, CO; Patricia (Robert) Lynn of Bloomington, IN; Paul (Chris) Manley of South Bend and William (Mary) Manley of Everett, WA; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward E. Connon of Decatur, IL and Charles K. Connon of Chicago, IL; and by many nieces and nephews.  Marguerite was preceded in death by two brothers, William J. Connon of Mishawaka, IN and Larry E. Connon of Osceola, IN.  Marguerite was Salutatorian of her graduating class at John Adams high school in 1945 and enjoyed staying in touch with former classmates for lunches and conversation. In addition to raising her 4 children, Marguerite also worked for several years at United Export Corporation and Saint Mary’s College. Marguerite was a long-time, active member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader, was fond of history, classical music, and loved nature and travel, but family always came first!
