Marguerite DellaSelva Cipriano, 94 years old, died on October 5, 2014. surrounded by her four children and their spouses, Mary-Jo (John) Amatruda; Diane (Randy) Graham; Anthony (Leslie) Cipriano Jr; and Francis (Nicole) Cipriano. She is remembered as full of life and love by her grandchildren, Matthew Amatruda, Eric (Leanne), Jaime and Jason (Dawn) Silver, Kristen (David) Cowings, Chelsea Cipriano and Tyler and Spencer Cipriano. She relished her great-grand-children, Riley, Cameron, Cooper, Colby and Addison Silver and Christopher Silver, and Maeve, Josie and Ronan Cowings. She is predeceased by her husband of almost seventy years, Dr. Anthony P. Cipriano of Branford. She also leaves her sister Gloria Schoolfield, of Hamden, CT and her brother Raymond DellaSelva, of Naples FL.

Marguerite is a graduate of West Haven High School and Grace Hospital School of Nursing. She and Dr. Cipriano were married in 1943 right before Dr. Cipriano was sent to the front lines of WWII to serve as a physician. She was the president of the Auxiliary of the Connecticut Medical Society and a successful real estate agent with Seabury Hill Realtors of New Haven.

Marguerite was an active member of the Yale University Women’s Organization and Hamden Hall Country Day School Parents’ Organization. She and her husband were long-time members of the Pine Orchard Yacht Club. Marguerite moved to Evergreen Woods after her husband’s death in 2012. There she enjoyed a circle of warm and caring friends while pursuing her interests in bridge and painting.

Marguerite’s passion was her family and friends for whom she always had time. With her openness and caring of others, she warmly touched everyone she met.
