Marguerite Constant was born on August 20, 1930, in Haiti, to her father Tales Zul, and her mother Zulia Orelien. She was the sixth of 3 sisters and 5 brothers that she loved dearly, and had many cousins, nieces, and nephews she liked to spend her time with. She went to school, and helped her mother run a food stand, for most of her young life, and married Gustave Constant on January 25th, 1953. In 1995, she and Gustave left Haiti to move to the US to live with her late daughter Yanick Constant. On January 8th, 1997, Gustave passed, and she became a widow, moving to live with her daughter, Mireille Constant for the rest of her life.

During her marriage, she became the mother of 9 children, and one stepdaughter. 5 of them have passed and 5 remain: Marlene Constant, Mireille Constant, Therese Constant, Felder Constant, and Claudia Constant. She has several grand-children, and great grandchildren, Dominique Jouthe, Harrisson Jouthe, Oliver Saintilien, Claudel Saintilien, Stephane Constant, Zharrha Constant, Yohan Constant, Anick Defendre, Kevin Defendre, Fedjine Constant, Ermeline Constant, Erline Constant, Claude Desir, Dilan Desir, and Claudemir Desir.

Marguerite was an extraordinarily brave and courageous woman who loved to dance, sing, and pray her rosary.  She loved life and embraced its struggles.  She fought hard to turn her pain into joy, and her struggles into success.

Like many women of her time, Marguerite was gifted with many talents.  She was a great cook, a seamstress, and an entrepreneur. At the same time, she was tasked with the responsibility of raising her children.  She was a superhero.  The way she lived her life is an inspiration to all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to do more with what they have and be the best they can be.

She always tried to help others whenever possible.  She made many sacrifices to take care of her family, working hard as a trader, farmer, and merchant. She liked teaching to her family the value of education, love, honesty, respect, sharing, and family unity. Now that she is gone, her memories will stay alive, her wishes will be honored, and her advice will be followed: love one another, be kind, share, and respect each other.
