Margery Fitzpatrick Binch, 81 passed away on 24-January 2021 with her son Bill and daughter Julie by her side.

Marge was born in 1939 in Philadelphia, PA to Frederick & Margaret Dittmann.  She grew up in Pennsylvania and Virginia. She attended college at the University of Maryland where she studied Nursing.  While in there, Marge met her future husband Bill Binch, and after marrying, they became parents to Julie & Billy.  Work took them from Virginia to New Jersey for a few years, before moving west to California in 1979.  While in California, Marge took it upon herself to launch a new career in Real Estate and became one of the most successful brokers in Marin County.   She continued that successful career when she moved to Florida in 1999. A strong desire to be closer to her grandchildren and family brought her to Arizona in 2013.

Marge was a devoted mother and above all else her children came first in her world.  That devotion extended to her grandchildren.  She was incredibly proud of her 3 grandsons, Alex (15), Samson (8), and Dalton (4).  She committed her later years to being and intricate part of their life, spending every available moment crafting surprise gifts, creating exciting adventures and bringing joy to every interaction.  She also loved all things Disney, having lived in Orlando.  She loved going to the parks with her grandsons, sharing books and artwork with them of the Disney characters.

Her adventurous nature took her abroad early in her life to Europe and Asia, and later in life she embarked on cruises of the Mediterranean Coast and the Caribbean. Never one to stay still, she traveled back to Europe with her daughter-in-law Stephanie, and fell in love with Florence Italy.

Her love for travel was only outmatched by her love for food.  Early in her life she was exposed to the experience of fine dining through her father.  While she loved to dress up and go out to nice restaurants, she relished in comfort foods, especially southern foods.  Fried chicken was her absolute favorite, and she made it her personal quest to master her mother-in-law’s fried chicken recipe.  Her expansive list of favorites included seafood (especially poke), Thanksgiving dinner, chicken noodle soup, fajitas, and had pies – but only if the crust was made her way.  It was also easy to find a batch of red licorice in her pantry at any time or find her picking up a quart of salted caramel ice cream from Sweet Republic.

Margie loved all things magic and had her hand in crafting some magic as well.  While working as a realtor in Florida, one of her work colleagues, Bobbie Mohlman, mentioned her daughter was coming in from out of town. Marge mentioned that her son was also in town that weekend and both agreed to do some matchmaking.  Bobbie’s daughter Stephanie is now married to Marge’s son Bill, with two delightful sons: Samson and Dalton. Truly a magical story!!

Marge is survived by her daughter Julie Bridge, her son Bill Binch, Julie’s son Alex Bridge, Bill’s sons Samson and Dalton Binch and her brother Joseph Fitzpatrick Jr.  And lest we forget, Margie was hardly ever without her trusty sidekick, Georgie.  Georgie is quite possibly the most energetic & sweetest toy poodle, who has now been happily adopted by Samson & Dalton.
