Muncie – Margarett “Betty” Shields, 86, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Waters of Yorktown following an extended illness.
Margarett was born in New Castle on August 18, 1926, the daughter of Vadis and Ethel Marie (Harrison) Norman, and attended Central High School.

Survivors include two sons, Guy John Sheilds, (companion-Wendy), Oak Island, North Carolina, and Timothy Lee Shields, (wife-Editha), Ocala, Florida; a daughter, Joan Allred; three grandsons, David Hannah (wife-Chris), Yorktown, Daniel Hannah, (wife-Jill), Saline, Michigan, and Douglas Hannah, Yorktown; four granddaughters, Teresa Robertson, (husband-Ryan), Muncie, Jodie Hart, Muncie, Stephanie Walker, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Adrianne Carpenter, (husband-Jim), Memphis, Tennessee; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of over 64 years Guy Junior Shields; a daughter, L. DiAnne Hannah; a brother, Vadis Sonny Norman; two sisters, Helen McCain, and Dorothy Florian.
