Margaret Alice Knorr (nAC.e Stobba) passed away peacefully on August 24, 2016 in Clearfield, UT. She was born the youngest in a family of nine on September 23, 1922 in the Free City of Danzig (now Gdansk Poland).
That is where she met Alfons, the love of her life. They were married December 24, 1942. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2003. Before moving from Oregon to Utah they raised four children beginning in Germany, immigrating to Chicago, and later on to California. She is now together again with Alfons as well as with all her brothers and sisters.
Everyone who knew her was very familiar with her selfless & generous nature and her earnest concern that guests be comfortable – and always well fed. Margaret leaves us with countless memories of good times. Raising her glass with her mantra of “Wir kommen nie wieder so jung zusammen” or “We’ll never be together this young again” she celebrated life to the fullest. Even in recent years, as dementia was stealing her own memories of events and people, her passion for life was being passed along to another generation.
Margaret will be missed by her children John (Marcia) Knorr, Al (Karen) Knorr, Frank (Sue) Knorr, Brigitte (Keith) Jacks, her grandchildren Kimberli (Ashley), Christine, Jenn (Phil), Robert (Johna), Bethany (Wayne), Ben (Bridgette), Matt (Corinna), Heather (David), Holly (Jason), Eric (Dorota), Kevin, her 12 great-grandchildren, many more nieces, nephews, and friends spread throughout the US and Germany.
All will remember the sound of her singing “Heaven… I’m in heaven”.Myers Mortuary of Layton
