Perkins, MI
Margaret Sharon Stevenson, 74, of Perkins, passed away January 20, 2013 peacefully with her family by her side, following a battle with lung cancer.

Margaret was born June 6 1938 in Escanaba, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Elizabeth (McCormick) Tardiff. She was raised in Gladstone and graduated from the Gladstone High School in 1956. She worked at J.C. Penny of Gladstone in her early years. She married Donald Stevenson of Perkins in 1959 at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. The couple made their residence in the Perkins area where they raised their six children.

Margaret was employed by the Perkins School, which later became the Mid Peninsula School District, for twenty five years. She retired as head cook in June of 2003.

She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She looked forward to meeting with her brothers, sisters and in-laws for their ritual Sunday breakfasts. Margaret was always willing to volunteer at fundraising events at her church, for the American Legion and Lions Club of Perkins or helping out at the Baldwin Twp. Hall assisting her husband with his supervising and assessing duties.

She loved being with her children, grandchildren and siblings, as family was very precious to Margaret.
Margaret was a member of the Saint Joseph Catholic Church of Perkins. She was a member of the Perkins American Legion Post 540 Women’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by children: Robert (Kathleen) Stevenson of Farmington Hills, MI; Gregory (Michelle ) Stevenson of Perkins; Patricia (Lee) Young of Green Bay, WI; Debra (James) Miller of Waupaca, WI; David (Laura) Stevenson of Appleton, WI; and Rebecca (Thomas) Fix of Rhinelander, WI.
