Margaret Rose Hogan died Monday, November 25, 2013. She was born January 23, 1932 in Little Rock at St. Vincent Infirmary to the late Mayme Elizabeth Corn Hogan and Joseph Robert Hogan. After graduating from Mt. St. Mary Academy, she received degrees from St. Louis University and the University of Arkansas. She was the Director of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Library for 24 years and worked at UAMS for a total of 32 years. She was named a Fellow of the Medical Library Association and was active in the Arkansas Library Association holding many offices in each organization. Rose was an active environmentalist serving on organizations that worked to preserve the natural beauty and resources of Arkansas. Among those organizations were the Governor’s Subcabinet on Natural Resources, the Arkansas Trails Council, the Ozark Society, and the Pulaski Group of the Sierra Club. She was a member of the Rackensack Society and the Arkansas Country Dance Society.
