Margaret Alice (Borrows) Tribou, age 91 years, of Plymouth, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2022, at her daughter’s home in East Wareham, MA, surrounded by her family.Margaret was the wife of the late Kenneth W. Tribou of Plymouth, MA and daughter of the late Thomas Borrows and Margaret (O’Shaughnessy) Borrows of East Boston and Wareham.Margaret was born in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School, class of 1948. After her graduation she and her family relocated to Wareham to be near the rest of their family. It was already their “home away from home”. Margaret had spent all her summers and holidays with her family in Wareham, so it was an easy move.Margaret loved to dance and Wareham at that time was full of dance halls, which is where she met her husband, Ken. After a brief engagement they were married on October 11, 1952 and continued to dance their life away for 50 years until Ken’s death in 2002. Margaret loved to travel near and far. She was always ready for the next adventure and road trips were her favorite. Margaret was an avid reader, a talented seamstress and cake decorator. She also enjoyed baking, the beach and casinos.Margaret loved dogs which was reflected by the family raising, breeding, and showing Irish Setters and Poodles for many years. The family also had a Golden Retriever named Buddy who she took to Forest View Nursing Home weekly as a therapy weekends in the winter months, Margaret would take her grandson to dogsled races with his team of Siberian Husky’s. Born in the Great Depression, Margaret had a strong work ethic. She worked in customer service her entire life and retired at the age of 87. Her working career include many restaurants, Plymouth and Brockton Bus Lines, and her last ten years as a greeter at Walmart in Plymouth, MA. Margaret was a parishioner of ST. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church for over 65 years.Margaret is survived by her daughter Kathleen Tribou of East Wareham and her companion Marcel Martineau, and her son William Tribou of Plymouth, MA, sister-in-law Helen Wiinikainen of Barnstable, MA, grandchildren Andrew Tribou, Jamie West, James and Julianna Tribou, great grandchildren Seth Usher, Jeremy Griffith Jr., Lindsay Tribou and Brian West Jr., along with many nieces, nephews and several dear cousins. Margaret was predeceased in death by her husband Kenneth W. Tribou, Plymouth, MA, stepdaughter Judith (Tribou) Brown of North Easton, MA, sister Marie Borrows of Pocasset, aunt Kathleen O’Shaughnessy of Wareham, and nephew Mark Borrows of family would like to thank Southcoast Hospital’s VNA Team 3 and Hospice Care, OCES, Meals on Wheels, Lifeline, and Wareham Fire and Rescue who have aided our Margaret over the past 5 years.
