Margaret "Peggy" M. Humphreys

Peggy was born April 19, 1923 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to Kenneth and Mabel Matheson. In 1942 she married J.T. Jack Humphreys, a mining engineer who was working in Honduras. Soon after they were married, Jack entered the U.S. Navy. Upon his release in 1945 they spent several years in various mining communities in Honduras and Nicaragua.

In 1954 Jack and Peggy moved to San Francisco del Oro, Chihuahua, Mexico where they spent the next thirty-three years until Jacks retirement. In 1987 they settled in El Paso, Texas which they called home until Jacks death in 2005. A year later Peggy moved to Roswell, New Mexico to be closer to family.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband as well as her brother, Kenneth Matheson and her sister, Jean Powell.

She is survived by her brother, William Matheson and his wife Ellie of Santa Ana, California, three sons: John Humphreys and his wife, Susan, of Park City, Utah, Robert Humphreys and his wife Jeanette of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Jim Humphreys and his wife, Katy of Roswell, New Mexico. She is also survived by her daughter, Carolyn Waring and her husband, Mike of Vicksburg, Mississippi, cherished friends, Sheila and Kristy Lowe of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She will be buried in Colorado Springs, Colorado next to her husband, Jack.
