Margaret Neoma DeLoach Campbell, 96, of Palatka, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 20, 2021, with family by her side. She was born July 6, 1925, to Gladys Massey Deloach and was a lifelong resident of Palatka. At the age of 12, she was baptized into the church and was an active member of Lemon Heights Baptist Church where she held a number of offices. Margaret taught Sunday School, Sun Beams, VBS, and was a soloist in the church choir. She later worshiped with First Baptist Church in Palatka.
In 1967 Margaret decided she wanted to work as a nurse aide at Putnam Memorial Hospital. She always said it was the greatest mission of her life outside of being a wife and mother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Carl Campbell, mother, Gladys Massey DeLoach, grandson, Rhett McCool, brother, Homer Daniel DeLoach, Sr. (Josie Folsom DeLoach), twin sisters, Zelma DeLoach Henry and Thelma DeLoach Millican (Hugh Millican).
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra “Sandy” Campbell Sumner (Wayne), Susan Campbell McCool (Jim), grandchildren, Lori Sumner Carter (Kenneth), Kevin Sumner, Matt McCool (Kim), Jini McCool Robbins (Harley), Lee McCool (Jessica), great-grandchildren, Katie Carter Swan (David), Clay McCool, Tatum McCool, Nolan McCool, Bryce Robbins, and Breanna Robbins as well as great-great-granddaughter, Caroline Swan.
