Went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday afternoon, September 2, 2018. Margaret was born December 21, 1918, in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late Anthony and Dena (Rijn) VanderWeele. She was a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area and was a member of Heritage Christian Reformed Church. Margaret loved her Lord and family.

She enjoyed doing volunteer work with the Red Cross, Park Village Pines, and Second Impressions. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing the piano and organ, sewing, and doing needlework. She was often called upon to play the piano and organ for services at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission and the Kalamazoo Juvenile Home. On June 3, 1941, she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Claus “Nick” Luteyn, who preceded her in death on February 24, 1985.

Margaret was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Daniel Hoogerheide; brothers and sisters, Peter, John, and Adrian VanderWeele, Nellie Niewenhuis, and Wilhelmina Hoogendoorn. She is survived by her children, Dianna Hoogerheide, Jim Luteyn; 3 grandchildren, Pam (Greg) Schrock, Steve (Stacey) Hoogerheide, Dave (Angelea) Hoogerheide; great-grandchildren, David and Kathryn Schrock, Caleb, Bethany, and Analeigh Hoogerheide, Ethan, Noah, and Schuyler Hoogerheide; and many nieces and nephews.
