Our loving and much-loved mother, Margaret Moeding, passed away peacefully at age 100 on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, surrounded by family.

She was born in Wayne, Nebraska in 1919. In 1939, she graduated from Nebraska State Teacher’s College and accepted a position teaching first grade in Powell, Wyoming.

Margaret and her husband, Henry, moved to Albuquerque in 1946 where she taught kindergarten. After her children started school, she became active in the community. She was president of the Council of Albuquerque Garden Clubs, Uptown Garden Club and Cosmopolitan Women’s Club. Margaret volunteered at UNM Hospital and Casa Esperanza.

She traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. Her hobbies were gardening, golfing (she once hit a hole-in-one), playing cards and going out with her “Bunch for Lunch” gals.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Albert; her husband, Henry; and her brother, Warren.

She is survived by her sister, Mildred; and children, Nancy, Carol, and Geoff; six grandchildren, Christine, Erica, Brian, Andrew, Barry and Michael; and eight great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kacie, Briana, Fallon, Ava, Luciana, Keyan, and Hana. Also touching Margaret’s life was her longtime friend, Debi Harrington.

We thank the staff at the Village at Alameda, her Ambercare therapists, Dan and Roy, as well as Ambercare hospice, and especially Dr. Camilla Jaramillo for their kindness and care.
