Margaret Iris Warnecke, 90, of Centralia died March 29, 2013 at Centralia Manor. She was born July 24, 1922 in Centralia, Illinois, to Bertha Beatrice (Smith) and Clarence Eugene Skasick.
Margaret is survived by her sister-in-law, Catherine Skasick; and two nephews, John (Janet) Skasick of Severn, Maryland; and Steve (Carol) Skasick of Collinsville, Illinois. She is also survived by four grand-nephews, John (Kristin) Skasick of Ulm, Montana; Brian (Kelly) Skasick of Laurel, Maryland; Scott (Cindy) Skasick of Catonsville, Maryland; and Michael Skasick of Collinsville, Illinois; a great-grand-nephew, Shawn (Keri) Skasick of Dothan, Alabama, and a great-grand-niece, Katelynn Skasick of Ulm, Montana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Charles Skasick (in infancy), Lloyd Skasick, and Lyle Skasick. Margaret was employed as a telephone operator, retiring from AT&T circa 1984. In retirement, she devoted herself to feeding stray cats and dogs, and assisting in the expense of spaying and neutering. She was a member of the Centralia Humane Society until 2010. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Centralia.
