Margaret Low Brown, of Jacksonville, IL, and formerly of Glastonbury, CT, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at the age of 99.
She was born June 10, 1910, in Yonkers, NY, to her late parents Peter and Margaret Eadie Low, who emigrated from Glasgow, Scotland.
Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed caring for her family. She attended Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton, MA while growing up in Springfield, MA. She entered the workforce at a young age and became a highly skilled seamstress.
Margaret leaves a daughter, Marion Dramin of Springfield, IL, and a son, Bernard (Valeta) Brown of Silver Spring, MD; four grandchildren, Susan (Ken) Weiss of Champaign, Bob (Lisa) Dramin of Jacksonville, IL, Allison (Nathan) Vanek of Chicago, and Deborah (Eric) Carson of New York, NY; two step grandchildren, Marcie (Tim) Thompson of Springfield, MO and Damon Samuelson of Arlington, VA; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; and two step great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander, whom she married in October, 1934, a sister, Elizabeth â??Bessieâ? Lewis and a brother Peter Low, and one sister and brother in infancy.
