Margaret Louise (Denham) Walsh

 United States

  • Date Of Birth: November 4, 1954
  • Date Of Death: May 25, 2021
  • State: Indiana

Margaret was born and raised on the Southside of Indy. She arrived in this world early as a preemie and was small in stature but that never stopped her from living a big life with with lots of love and laughter. Margaret met the love of her life, John thanks to mutual friends. They were married July 22, 1977 at St.

Margaret started her career at St. Francis of Beech Grove as a candy striper and eventually worked as a unit secretary for a critical care unit. The staff there became her extended family. When her girls were older, she made a career move to work as a senior staffer at RN Specialties where she took call at night and made sure the hospitals around Indiana had the appropriate number of staff needed for the next shift.

Margaret had a passion for people and made connections wherever life took her. She was also very passionate in her faith and loved to share stories of how God had worked miracles in her life. She was a devoted wife, mommy and “nanny”. She took her role as a grandma seriously and came equipped with gifts and candy wherever she roamed. She spoke in song which was inherited from her father. She could come up with a little ditty for any situation. She made the best out of whatever life threw at her.

Margaret had an affinity for the water whether it was poolside on Pennsylvania St., lounging at the beach with family or her daily retreat in the bath tub -she loved the water! She also loved animals big or small -she loved them all. Margaret was a giver and true steward of Christ.

Margaret loved life to the fullest and enjoyed sharing her love with others. In her final hours we let her know it was okay to go ahead of the rest of us since she’s always been a leader but no stopping at Cracker Barrel or Walmart since we didn’t want her to be late for St. Peter. She will be missed greatly but we take peace in the Promise we will see her again one day! We hope her legacy of kindness lives on in all who knew her.

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”

She is survived by her husband, John P. Walsh; daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Tygrett and Meghan (Mark Wesley, Jr.) Wilson; siblings, Tammy Johnson, Terri Ratliff, Jesse Denham and Trena James; grandchildren, Connor, Genevieve, Preston, Gavin and Spencer Wilson and Ella and Anna Tygrett.
