Margaret Grace “Peggy” Sutton, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2018, in Kalamazoo, MI. Peggy was born October 7, 1935, in Holland, MI, the daughter of Otto and Helen (Hospers) Yntema.
She received her Master’s Degree in Library Services and was an elementary school teacher in Kalamazoo County and Holliston, MA for many years. She developed one of the first open classrooms and taught others how to use that concept. Peggy loved reading, social activities, and spending time in the sun…especially at South Haven. Peggy was a Senior Companion for many years at Senior Services, Borgess, and Park Place Assisted Living. She loved her Lord, faithfully attending First Assembly Church and Hart to Heart Ministries. Peggy was dutiful in sharing her faith and had acquired a family nickname as the “Gospel Gorilla”. The most important part of her life was her family.
Surviving are her two sons Brook Sutton of Brookfield, MA, and Bradley Sutton of Steamboat Springs, CO, her sister Helene (Phil) Boothroyd of Kalamazoo, and many other special family and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joan Ettwein.
