Margaret Ellen Edwards, 96, of Muncie passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at her home. She was born November 26, 1915 in Carlos, the daughter of George Washington and Bertha Jane (Naylor) Carey. She graduated from Huntington High School. Following graduation she and her family moved to Modoc, where she met her husband. Margaret and Alvin A. Edwards were married July 6, 1934. They lived in Modoc until 1949 then moved to Selma. Following her graduation from Ambers Beauty School she opened the Bluebird Beauty Shop in Selma, She worked as a hairdresser for 27 years and continued to enjoy the friendship with many of her patrons. Surviving are her twin sister, Mary Helen Jordan; LaMesa, CA; her daughter, Jayne Buchanan, (husband-Robert); Muncie; her sons, Gregor Edwards, (wife-Lorri);
Spokane, WA., Stuart Edwards, (wife-Susie), Pendleton, and Steve Edwards, (wife-Cherri), Farmland; 11 grandchildren, Vince Buchanan, Eric Buchanan, Angela Buchanan, Ann Edwards, Julie Edwards, Terra Edwards, Tracy Davidson, Edi Dones, Erin Edwards, Susan Edwards, and Nathan Edwards; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 69 years, Alvin A. Edwards, brother, Leroy Carey, sister, Ada E. Sears, son, Alvin Vance Edwards, granddaughter, Lisa Edwards, and great-grandson, Sean Buchanan.
