On Monday, June 15, 2015, Margaret Butts, 97, passed away peacefully at Avery Heights in Hartford. Born in Boston, MA on February 20, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Maurice & Susan (Kosh) Lane. In her early years she raised her family and had worked part time as the secretary of men’s furnishings at the former G. Fox & Company. Later, she volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program, became a member of the Cedar Mountain Garden Club and the Indian Hill Country Club, having developed a passion for golf. Additionally she loved to travel, especially to see stage productions in New York City. She had a great devotion to her Catholic faith and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church since 1957. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Charles E. Butts in 2002, and was the eldest and last surviving of her siblings that included Maurice Lane, Doris Czarra, and Rita Riley. She is survived by her sons. Charles R. Butts and his special friend Pam Morrison of Kinnelon, NJ & Lawrence A. Butts and his wife Marla of Woodstock, CT, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, & great nephews.
