Margaret R. (Hassett) Brown, 75, of Leominster, died Monday, May 5, 2014 at Leominster Crossings surrounded by her family.
Margy was born on February 5, 1939 in Fitchburg, MA and was the daughter of Charles M. and Bertha (Kendall) Hassett. She worked as a R.N.
at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA where she retired after 34 years of service. Margy resided in Boxborough, MA. for 33 years, where she raised
her family. After retirement, her and her late husband resided in San Clemente, CA. where they enjoyed many years there, as well as on the east coast in
Leominster, MA. She volunteered after retirement in local hospitals in San Clemente, CA. and she was a member of the Red Hat Society. Margy and her late husband were members of the Ty-Rods car club.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra A. Brown and her husband Kevin L. Wheeler of Leominster, a son, Douglas E. Brown and his wife Akiyo of
Chula Vista, CA., a brother Edward K. Hassett of Ashby, and six grandchildren Brian D. Wheeler, Michael L. Wheeler, Emi Brown, Masao Brown, Takao
Brown and Hideo Brown. Margy was predeceased by her husband Donald F.J. Brown on November 19, 2002.
Margy enjoyed traveling the world with friends. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting. She loved to shop for antiques. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She lived the last few years of her life at the assisted living community of Leominster Crossings. She had private care givers that were with her daily who provided one-on-one care. The family would like to thank her private care givers, as well as all of the employees of Leominster Crossings, for providing Margy with exceptional care.
