Those left to honor Margaret’s memory are her two sons, Gary (Joyce) Harper of Toccoa, Georgia, and Robert J. “Bobby” Harper also of Toccoa; two granddaughters, Jodi Lynn (Patrick) Spink of Auburn, Georgia, and Tracy Sue (George) Burtz of Dacula, Georgia; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Harper Spink, Abbey Spink, Alex Burtz, and Adam Burtz; and her brother, Melvin E. Payne of Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Lewis and Gladys Alice (Sayles) Payne; 1st husband, Blyde W. Harper in 1945 while serving in WW II; 2nd husband, William Frank Randolph in 1993.

Margaret lived in Newton from 1925 until moving to Toccoa, Georgia in 2000. She was a graduate of Newton High School in 1940.

Margaret worked in the school lunch program at Emerson Hough School from 1976-1992 and was a nurses aide at Heritage Manor for 5 and half years.

Margaret was a pioneer in the development of the Jasper County Association for Retarded Citizens then called Beacon Light School. She also loved camping with her friends in the Good Sam Club.
