Marek Domka, 67, of Toms River NJ, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at his home in Toms River. Born in Przeworsk, Poland, he lived in Belmar NJ, before moving to Toms River three years ago. He was an Automobile Mechanic for Alternative Car Care LLC in Neptune, NJ.

Marek was an officer and commander in submarines in Gdynia – Oksywie, Poland. During his earlier years spend in Poland he regularly attended regatta in Gdansk Bay and on the Baltyk Sea, and trained young cadets on sailing ships and navigation.

Marek was a loving and devoted husband. He was very kind, compassionate and hard working soul with a golden heart. He touched so many hearts throughout his life by his humble & caring way of living. He was always ready to help those in need. As one of his dearest friends, Pat Coy said, “Marek didn’t have friends because EVERYONE was his family!” He treated every person equally! There were no exceptions! His loving heart didn’t reach only people but animals too! Marek was a true animal lover. There was always a homeless kitten to be fed, hungry & sick birds or cats that he lovingly care for. His favorite however was the groundhog Gucio and her babies that brought him lots of joy.

Marek had many talents, interests and passions. Some of them included sailing, a love for cooking & entertaining, and of course his life long passion for cars. He was a huge hockey fan – NJ Devils for sure and one of his favorite players was Martin Brodeur. Marek had an incredible passion for history, WWII in particular. His rich knowledge made him a walking encyclopedia!

He will be remembered by his teasing jokes, his entertaining stories, his unfailing work ethic, his generous smile, and his willingness to come at any time to help any neighbor in need.

He is preceded in death by his parents Michal and Anna (Czarny) Domka. Marek is survived by his loving wife Irena W. Domka, his step-daughter Dorota Labudzinska, as well as his two sisters; Janina Andonedis and Barbara Frankowska and many nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him!
