Marcus Orlando Jackson is the son of the late (Robert “Bobby” Stover, birth father) Innis Jackson, and Etta Lou Evans. Marcus was born November 16, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio. He unexpectedly departed this life on May 23, 2023. He was educated in the Columbus City School System. He was a graduate of Linden McKinley High School. He was a trombonist in the marching band and jazz band. He attended Columbus State Community College where he was a mechanical engineering major. He also earned an HVAC/R diploma at AST. His employment history included working at the Department of Taxation, a machinist at Liebert, Buckeye Steel, Certified HVAC/R & Maintenance Technician at Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, FCCS, Ross Labs, New Life Properties, CPO, and Wallick Properties.
Marcus gave his life to the Lord and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Marcus courted his childhood sweetheart in 2005; later married her in 2006. God called him to lead his people and he said yes. He became a licensed Minister of the Gospel in 2006 and was ordained in 2008. Pastor Marcus (affectionately referred to as) and his wife co-pastored the Church of Columbus alongside their son Pastor JC Wallace. Pastor Marcus was a no-nonsense leader and loved those thrown away by family or life circumstances. Marcus was a faithful member of Triumphant Christian Center Church when released in ministry by Apostle Juan Woods to pastor. Triumphant was always his home. He was a servant of God. Some of his best times spent ministering was to the homeless, and those struggling with addictions and making sure everyone had the necessities of life, especially knowing they were seen and loved. He was such a humble sole who never looked for accolades from man. His desire is that all would come to accept Jesus as Lord and be saved.
Pastor Marcus loved the beauty of God’s creation, he was full of life and believed in being well-dressed, adventurous, and spontaneous. While he was a loner, he lived life out loud. He taught many through overcoming his own struggles that God loves us right where we are and guides us into our potential and purpose in him. He was the priest, prophet, protector, worshipper, and counselor. He was always concerned about the well-being of others.
He loved playing ping pong, racing cars, boxing, and playing chess. He loved playing chess so much that he taught some of the grandkids to play. It was the little things that meant the most to him. His core values were loving God, family, friends, and others which is why he could often be found off to the side in conversation with someone about the trajectory of their life choices and how to turn it all around. Pastor Marcus loved his family.
