In addition to his wife of 59 years, he leaves his brother, Tom O’Brien of Galesburg, two daughters-in-law, Stephanie Frank of Belchertown, MA and Katherine O’Brien of Upton, MA, two beloved grandsons, David O’Brien of Belchertown and Christopher O’Brien of Bloomingdale, IN, a beloved granddaughter, Ashley O’Brien of Upton, and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Gilbert L. O’Brien of Upton, who died in 2001.
