Marcia Elaine Mitchell Gartman of Sheridan, Arkansas was born November 28, 1950, the daughter of Donzella Mote Mitchell and the late James Henry “Jim” Mitchell. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sheridan, and was retired from the Veteran’s Administration. Over the years, she enjoyed such things as bowling, gardening and maintaining an impeccable yard, and many remember her as an accomplished swimmer, who taught lessons for a number of years. Marcia was a gentle soul, who had an incredible servant’s heart. Just her smile alone was enough to touch the hearts of everyone she met.
Mrs. Gartman died Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Hospice Homecare in Little Rock, at the age of 68. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a brother, James Wallace “Wally” Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband, David G. Gartman of Sheridan; mother, Donzella Mitchell; daughters, Stacia Nicole McCullough and husband Dave of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Lauren Elizabeth Sauls of Little Rock; granddaughter, Analia Nicole Foshee of Arcata, California; sister, Roseanne Mitchell of Redland City, California, Ellen Thompson of Cabot, Arkansas; step-sons, David Brian Gartman and wife Carrie of Sherwood, James E. Gartman and wife Kim of White Hall; Step-daughter, Davia Phillips Gartman of Longmont, Colorado; step-grandchildren, Garrett, Lauren, Emma Grace, Christian, Erin, Allie, Noah Caloway, Liam Gray; step-great grandsons, Carter and Ollie. She is also survived by a host of other family members and countless numbers of friends.
