Marcia D, Hicks, age 47, after a short but very courageous fight with cancer, passed away peacefully at her home early Tuesday morning March 12, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, and went to live with Jesus. Marcia was born on July 1, 1965 at the Eglin A.F.B. Hospital. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Thomas M. Hicks; daughter, Virginia D. Hicks; grandchildren, Allen and Verity; parents, Ira and Mary Watts; brothers, Ira Sidney Watts and wife Melinda, Rodney William Watts and wife Mary; and niece, Kristin E. Watts; mother-in-law, Sootsy Kittrell; brothers-in-law, Mark and Derek Hicks; and sisters-in-law, Amber, Deidre and Shelly Hicks. Marcia was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, Girl Scout leader, cheerleader coach, baseball coach, office manager, and a bright spot in the lives of all who ever met her. There are no words strong enough to express how much she will be missed by all. Her smile would brighten any room and her laugh was infectious to all near her. To her husband, “Tommy” she was the love of his life as he was the love of her life. She was her mother’s Angel and was and always will be her daddy’s Baby and his bright and shining star that can never be replaced.
